THE DEMON, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said Friday that the Nobel Peace Prize, which has been granted, was a "gift from heaven" and a "huge impetus" to reach a new agreement with the FARC.
That award "was like a gift from heaven and a huge boost" to achieve that new commitment, following the plebiscite rejection of an initial agreement with the guerrillas, Santos said in a press conference, in which he expressed himself in English.
Santos, arrived in Oslo on Friday, where he will receive the award for his peace efforts in his country.
The Colombian president will attend the Nobel ceremony on Saturday with a delegation of 30 people including relatives, government officials and representatives of the victims of the armed conflict, which in more than half a century left 260,000 dead, tens of thousands missing and more Of six million displaced people.
