"If Trump does not win the US elections will be a nuclear war," said Putin ally

Americans should elect Donald Trump as president next month or prepare for a nuclear war, according to a Russian ultranationalist ally of President Vladimir Putin who likes to be compared to the US Republican candidate, as quoted by Infobae.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a flamboyant lawmaker known for his fiery rhetoric, said in an interview with Reuters that Trump is the only person able to defuse the tension between Moscow and Washington.

By contrast, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton could trigger a Third World War, Zhirinovsky, who was recognized by Putin with a state award said after his ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) achieved third place in parliamentary elections Russia last month.

Many Russians consider Zhirinovsky not only as "a clown" that makes exaggerated claims for attention but is also widely regarded as a faithful servant of the Kremlin's policy.

"Relations between Russia and the United States can not be worse. The only way they can get worse if a war is beginning, "Zhirinovsky said, from his large office on the 10th floor of the Russian State Duma, or lower house of parliament.
