Director resigns QC carmaker Volkswagen, Frank Tuch, after the scandal caused by the manipulation of gas emissions.
Volkswagen reported today that Tuch, 48, is leaving the company voluntarily and will be replaced by Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler from February 15.
Rothenpieler report directly to the chairman of Volkswagen, Matthias Müller.
Volkswagen has made changes to management positions since the scandal broke handling emissions and has halved the number of managers reporting directly to the president.
Tuch has directed the Quality Control Volkswagen since 2010 and had previously worked at DaimlerChrysler and Porsche in positions of quality control and technical director.
He was appointed Director of Quality Control in VW by its former chairman, Martin Winterkorn, who resigned when the scandal occurred.
