Red Cross prepares mobilization to clear mosquito breeding sites Zika



The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) announced Tuesday a mobilization in all countries affected by Zika to support communities in eliminating mosquito breeding sites that transmits this virus and to those areas remain clean long term.

The priority area will be urban slums, "where there are many farms" Mosquito due to unsanitary conditions, said the head of the Department of Health of the IFRC, Julie Hall.

National societies of the Red Cross in Latin America and the Caribbean will mobilize its network of volunteers in this campaign to show the community how to remove mosquito breeding and their eggs.
