US financial sanctions announced Wednesday several companies and individuals in Syria, including an intermediary of President Bashar al-Assad, to buy oil from the organization Islamic State.
"In response to the continuing violence perpetrated by the regime of Bashar al-Assad against its citizens," the Treasury Department sanctioned four people and six companies that "give their support to the government of Syria, including an intermediary for the purchase of it petroleum by the Syrian regime ISIS terrorist group "noted in a statement, AFP reported.
