Pope Francisco today calls on world leaders to make efforts to promote "responsible" economic development models in order to cope with the "serious" current environmental crisis.
"The values (of nature) must inspire the efforts of national leaders to promote responsible economic development models," the pontiff said during a reception of the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, at his residence, Efe said.
The pope arrived in Nairobi amid extraordinary security measures, including the deployment of ten thousand agents in Kenya's capital during his visit, which will last until Friday.
