Pope Francis urged to "sow reconciliation" in his last homily before leaving Cuba today and said in a Mass at the shrine of the patron saint of the island that the Church wants to "build bridges" and "break walls."
Francis added that believers are invited "generations" to renew your faith, to live what he called the "revolution of tenderness" in a Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Charity attended President Cuba, Raul Castro.
The pope made reference to "reconciliation" at the end of a trip around the island to take you from today to the United States and has been preceded by a rapprochement between Havana and Washington, historical irreconcilable enemies last December 17 they announced resumption of relations.
"Our revolution passed through the tenderness, the joy that always projimidad done, always compassion is made and leads us to engage, to serve in the lives of others," the pope said in his homily at the small temple the patron saint of the island.
"We want to be a church that serves leaving home, leaving their temples, their sacristies, to accompany life, sustain hope, be a sign of unity," he added.
He said that Catholics want to be a community "that accompany all know 'embarrassing' situations of our people, committed to life, culture, society, borrándonos but not walking with our brothers".
He gave the example of the life of the Virgin Mary to say that every time that Catholics follow back "to believe in the revolution of tenderness and affection."
Minor Mass at the Basilica of the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity, about twenty kilometers from Santiago, is the penultimate act of the Pope in Cuba, before the Meeting with Families to be held in the cathedral's second city the island.
