IBM wants to bring quantum computing to everyone
Quantum computing will be a functional reality in a few years, according to IBM, you just create a cloud platform for anyone to learn and experiment with a quantum processor.
Scientists began to speak of quantum computing three decades ago, a completely different computing environment that will have the potential to solve intractable problems for current computers. However, science moves in theory, has not yet managed to build the quantum computer (there are only prototypes).
But IBM says that quantum computing "has gone from science to become an engineering area" and has already begun the path that will take in a few years, the construction of the functional computer based on the principles of quantum mechanics .
"It will not be in a hundred years, will come a day when we will have a practical quantum computer that is in the cloud," he explains in an interview with Efe vice president of science and solutions of IBM Research, Dario Gil .
"The era of quantum computing has already started. What we can do now is small and limited, but we are on the way to creating quantum computers that will be used to solve society's problems," he continues.
IBM just launch IBM Quantum Experience a cloud platform connected to the Web for anyone who wishes to experience a quantum processor: learn to program, create and test algorithms.
