Colombia police captured the businessman Nidal Waked, considered by the US as one of the largest drug money launderers in the world.
The Attorney General signed the arrest warrant for extradition of the businessman, who is requested by a court in the Southern District of Florida laundering and fraud Nidal Waked.
"The Colombian-Panamanian citizen entered the national territory for the city of Bogotá, on a commercial flight from Panama during last night" (Wednesday), added Migration Colombia.
In May, the US Treasury, which considers "one of the money launderers the most important drug in the world", fined several members of his family, of Lebanese origin, for this crime and said Nidal Ahmed Waked Hatum, also with Spanish nationality, and Mohamed Abdul Waked Fares as leaders of the "money laundering organization Waked".
Among the companies listed are the real estate and luxury goods firms Grupo Wisa and the Riviera, the bank Balboa Bank and Trust and two newspapers.
