Rousseff says it will not allow the "coup prosper"
Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said Wednesday it will not allow "the coup prosper," referring to the process that handles the Senate and can separate it from power within a fortnight and then lead to final dismissal.
Rousseff attended a national convention on human rights which was received by hundreds of people shouting "no blow" that his followers intone incessantly since the start of the process that can lead to impeachment.
In his speech, he repeated what he has said for months about the proceedings against him, which said that although follow the steps provided in the Constitution, is "illegal" because "no crime".
Rousseff said again that "can not be a 'impeachment' (impeachment) without legal basis, without crime", so repeated his thesis of "coup".
According to the president, "there are several ways at once, with weapons in hand or tanks, but there is also a new type of shot is done with bare hands, ripping the Constitution."
The president reiterated that proposes to "fight to the end to ensure that democracy is respected" and not allow "some seek to cut paths to power."
Rousseff said that "what is at stake is not the 54 million votes" that supported his re-election in October 2014, but "it is democracy itself" that "is at risk in Brazil."
