Microsoft reduced to 3,760 million quarterly profit


Microsoft today announced profits of 3,760 million during the third quarter of its fiscal year, below the 4.990 million a year earlier and analysts' expectations.

Shares of the company based in Redmond (Washington State) reacted downwards during the hours after the close of Wall Street trading, down more than 4.45%.

Company revenues also fell from 21,700 million to 20,500 million.

"Organizations using digital technology to transform and promote new growth increasingly choosing Microsoft as a partner (...) We see a boost in cloud services and Windows 10," he said in a statement the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella.

The core business of the company founded by Bill Gates, the software for personal computers, continued to fall with a new 2% drop in revenue.

The company has decided to focus on its segment of cloud services in order to boost growth.
In that sense, Microsoft reported today that revenue segment "Smart Cloud" rose 3.3% in the quarter to 6.100 million.
