A NASA satellite captures images of a solar flare
A satellite of the US space agency NASA captured last Sunday spectacular images of a solar flare on the sun king, which can be seen with the naked eye flares this detached, and were published today by the agency itself.
According to NASA, it was a mid-level eruption that originated in a sunspot (a region of the Sun which has a lower temperature than its surroundings) five times the size of Earth.
Solar dynamics observatory NASA was able to record images through a satellite, but sunspot in which took place the eruption has been outside the angle of view from Earth because of solar rotation.
Solar flares are great bursts of radiation that come from the sun when the magnetic fields of the sun burst and release energy.
The eruption recorded by the satellite on April 17 is M6.7 class, which corresponds to one-tenth the size of the most intense flares.
