Belgium extradited to France to Paris bombings suspect

Salah Abdeslam, indicted for his alleged role in the attacks of 13 November in Paris, has been transferred to France from Beveren prison in northern Belgium.

"Salah Abdeslam has been delivered this morning to the French authorities in implementing the European arrest warrant filed on March 19, 2016 by France," said the Public Ministry in a statement.

Belgian Justice authorized on March 31 delivery to France Abdeslam, who is credited with having been part of the logistical apparatus of Paris bombings in which 130 people died, in compliance with the European arrest warrant Paris.

Abdeslam, who was arrested on 18 March in the Brussels district of Molenbeek after staying for four fled months, had agreed to be transferred to that country, although initially opposed to this possibility.
