Chinese investments in Europe reached a record high in 2015, 23,000 million dollars, and for the first time exceeded those received in North America, according to a study released Monday in Paris by the cabinet Baker and McKenzie.
Chinese investment in North America reached the sum of 17,000 million dollars, the report said.
Since 2000, China invested 108,000 million dollars in North America and 97,000 million in Europe, the report said.
In 2015, Chinese investment in Europe increased 27% compared with 2014.
65% of Chinese investments in Europe were made by Chinese public companies, he added.
However, in North America the most investments were for Chinese private enterprises.
