The New York Post published Monday on the front page a picture of the potential first lady Melania Trump naked, sparking criticism in social networks and accusations of misogyny.
This is the second consecutive day the Rupert Murdoch tabloid published nude photos of the wife of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump taken in the years when she was a young model.
"Menage a Trump," says the title making a pun on "menage a trois" (threesome), along with the legend "exclusive photos".
The photo shows a naked Melania embraced by another naked woman on a bed.
On Sunday, the Post ran a front another photo of Melania naked, colored stars that covered the nipples, under the title "The ogle office" (the lustful office), a pun in English with the "oval office" the White House.
The campaign team of Republican candidate seemed to belittle photos.
A Trump adviser, Jason Miller, told CNN on Sunday that there was "nothing embarrassing with photos, she's a beautiful woman."
Both sets of photos were taken in 1995 when Melania, born in Slovenia, was 25 and worked as a model before she met Trump.
The photos were published the following year in the now-defunct French magazine Max.
In mid-April the New York Post announced its support for Trump for president, describing him on that occasion as "a potential superstar great promise, but rookie mistakes."
The reaction was mixed pictures on Twitter.
"Shame on you #NewYorkPost by passing Melania Trump as a prostitute. United States does not need more Neanderthals contributions in this scandalous election," said a tweet.
"I am appalled and outraged" by the pictures, said another tweet, adding: "Misogyny is misogyny".
Several other tweets also denounced "attempts by shaming" Melania.
Some wanted to know how they would react Republican voters who are evangelical Christians, while others questioned whether Murdoch, who has conservative views, had turned against Trump.
Melania Trump met in 1998 and became the third wife of real estate mogul in 2005.
