Microsoft pays you to use your browser Edge

Almost three quarters of users of Windows 10 do not use the Edge browser that comes default in the new version of the operating system Microsoft. So now the company plans to pay for people to start using it.

The Microsoft Rewards program, announced this week, is the new name Bing Rewards, a program that will give people points for using the search engine Bing. The new program, which is currently available only in the United States, will give people points for using Edge and Bing, and shopping at the Microsoft Store.

These points can be redeemed for vouchers or credits in places like Amazon, Starbucks, Skype and ad-free version of Outlook.com.

But there is one condition: you have to use the Microsoft search engine Bing as your search engine.

Edge Microsoft launched in May, arguing that it was a faster search engine, battery more efficiently and better in general than the competition. However, currently it holds a market share of only 5%.

Some time ago, Microsoft dominated the browser market with Internet Explorer, the predecessor of Edge. In the last decade, however, it has seen a significant drop in the number of users due to the arrival of alternatives like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
