At least 11 people were killed and 36 wounded when exploding a car bomb in the center of Istanbul.
The governor of the city, Vasif Sahin, said "seven policemen and four civilians have been killed, 36 others were injured."
The attack occurred at 0840 hours when a vehicle with police officers driving near a public bus stop in the neighborhood of Beyazit Vezneciler, near a university and tourist sites.
It was learned that the bomb was detonated by remote control.
Several ambulances and fire engines went to the scene of the blast to help the wounded.
