In his attempt to be the first aircraft of this type to circumnavigate the world, the plane landed at 20.49 local time (00.49 GMT Thursday), which was the fourth flight stage only on North America so far route, reported the project website (www.solarimpulse.com).
The "Solar Impulse II", piloted by one of its inventors, Bertrand Piccard, made a flight of 16 hours and 49 minutes from Dayton to Lehigh Valley, close to the city of New York, a distance of 1,044 kilometers, without any type of fuel, only driven by clean technology.
This project seeks to raise awareness and convince world governments that implement technological solutions to preserve the environment.
It is expected that the "Solar Impulse II" continue its journey to New York, where is scheduled to travel to Europe, North Africa and Abu Dhabi, where the tour began.
