Ramon Castro, the older brother of Fidel and Raul Castro, died today in Havana at the age of 91, official media reported. EFE

The death of Ramon Castro came on the morning of Tuesday, according to a report released on state television news and on the website of the newspaper Granma, in which the cause of death is not required.

His remains were cremated and will be transferred to Biran, the birthplace of Castro in the eastern province of Holguin.

Born October 14, 1924, Ramon Castro was imprisoned in 1953 during the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista and later cooperated with the guerrillas who led his brother Fidel and the July 26 Movement and organized a supply network that supplied the II Eastern Front rebels.
