A North Dakota man was arrested this week in Washington accused of masterminding the kidnapping of Bo, one of the 2 dogs US President Barack Obama.
The man, identified as Scott Stockert, traveled to the capital in order to kidnap the dog and was arrested after the Secret Service would find weapons and ammunition in his truck, authorities said.
Stockert, who was arrested on Wednesday night, will be submitted to a higher court in Washington will decide the indictments to be presented against him, including possession of unregistered weapons.
Authorities found the vehicle stopped in a shotgun, rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition for both weapons, a club and a machete with a blade 30 centimeters.
The weapons were not loaded, police said.
In addition, the police report states that at the time of arrest in a hotel near the Washington Convention Center, the individual said he was the son of John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe.
Bo was a gift that made him Barack Obama to his daughters, Sasha and Malia, after winning the election in 2008. In his acceptance speech after winning the November 4 of that year, Obama promised to thousands of people who could having a dog in the White House.
And so it was. The task to choose the pet was not easy, especially because most of his daughters, Malia, then 10 years old, are allergic, so it had to be an animal that does not loosen hair. So they decided on a Portuguese Water Dog.
