The president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, announced the capture of drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, who was a fugitive from justice after fleeing for the second time in a maximum security prison on 11 July.
"Mission accomplished. I have I want to inform Mexicans Joaquin Guzman Loera has been arrested," said Peña Nieto in his account of the social network Twitter, although no details where or at what time he was arrested.
