Rousseff increases the minimum wage of Brazil's 11.6%

The Brazilian government today announced a 11.6% increase in the minimum wage of workers in the country from next January 1.

With this increase, including a decree signed by President Dilma Rousseff, the minimum wage will reach 880 Brazilian reais, equivalent to $ 228 depending on the exchange today.



"The government gives continuity to its policy and appreciation of the minimum wage, which has a direct impact on 40 million workers and retirees currently receiving the wage floor," says the brief note that the increase is announced.
