This partnership forms part of the tests announced by Facebook to add transport capabilities Messenger.

The latter service, with WhatsApp, acquired last year, one of the two Facebook messaging applications, and is used by over 700 million people, according to its own figures.

In last spring, Facebook Messenger reported the incorporation of a mobile payment service among friends and tools to encourage its use by online merchants. Then he began testing a virtual assistant named "M" Messenger integrated, capable of competing with similar services from Google, Apple (Siri) or Microsoft (Cortana).

"Today, we expanded the services available with the launch of transport in Messenger. With this tool, you can reserve a car ride without loading or cutting an additional conversation application, "said Facebook in a statement.

Uber is the first partner of Facebook in the field. The new service will be proposed to users of Messenger in some American cities that Uber is present, on a trial basis.

Facebook promises that "more countries and more partners in the transport sector will be available soon."

Specifically, the Messenger user must go to the options menu, select "transportation" and mark an icon to order a vehicle. Will be "as simple as sending a message," says Facebook.
