Reluctantly, Karim Benzema is more news in recent days over rough judicial matters for his footballing activity and the question now is whether the Real Madrid striker arrives in time to play on Saturday against Barcelona classic.
In early October, nothing seemed to presage a bad thing for a Benzema which showed one of its best versions since joining Real Madrid, six years ago. French seven goals in eight games gave reason to announcing the arrival of the "best Benzema", but it was cut short suddenly.
Benzema traveled with his team and returned to Madrid injured. The white club issued a statement on October 10 in which confirmed the fracture of the femoral biceps of his left leg. They talked about for a month, but the Frenchman suffered a relapse and now is the biggest mystery of his team for the appointment against Barcelona.
Since his injury, the life of Benzema has gone from bad to worse and the lowest point came on November 4, when he traveled to France to testify at Versailles for his alleged involvement in blackmail his team-mate Mathieu Valbuena for video sexual.
Benzema spent the night in police cells and was not released until the day after, when he was also accused. If convicted, he could face a sentence of up to five years in prison.
As if nothing had happened, the player returned to Madrid and immediately went to the Ciudad Deportiva white club to continue his recovery. He drove his car displaying a smile and raised the thumb of his right hand.
He was welcomed by the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, in an unusual act of supporting the president. We know that Benzema is one of the favorites of Pérez, perhaps the most.
Soon after, the president of Real Madrid ordered the preparation of a statement in which he expressed his "full support and confidence in the goodness of his performance and total innocence."
He added: "The club acknowledges their professional values and commitment, partnership and demonstrated his impeccable attitude within the first team during the more than six years as part of the Real Madrid".
Indeed, Benzema is one of the most beloved players in the locker room of Real Madrid, which has for a good guy.
However, its history outside the camps speak of a very troubled person. In his day he was acquitted in France of an alleged crime of prostitution in Spain and is known for running with the car more than necessary. He was once arrested for taking part in illegal races in Ibiza and Madrid was caught by police driving at 216 kilometers per hour on a road with 100 limit.
Now the question is whether Benzema may come in the classic Saturday. His injury left the Real Madrid without a forward reference and the experiment of putting Cristiano Ronaldo as "9" did not work out.
Perhaps on the field find peace Benzema missing out of it.
