Germany will spend 14,300 million for refugee crisis

Germany will allocate 14,300 million euros in 2016 to the reception and integration of refugees, according to a team of advisers to the government, which estimates that "manageable" for the treasury of the leading European economy adds. AFP

The team of economists urged the government to speed up the processing of asylum and labor market integration of refugees.

About a million people fleeing wars or poverty in the Middle East and Africa this year came to Germany.

"The arrival of refugees showed that Germany is not immune to global problems," said the German Council of Economic Experts in its annual report submitted to the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The panel estimated that public expenditure related to the crisis of refugees registered an increase of 5,900 million to 8,300 million euros this year and 9,000 million to 14,300 million in 2016.

A sum that should not scare taxpayers.

"Given the strength of public finances and the large margin left policies of greater economic efficiency, the forecast expenses related to the arrival of refugees appear manageable," said the panel of "wise men", often referred to as its members.

Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, for the time ordered a budget provision of 8,000 million euros in 2016 to address this crisis, also he said last week that Germany was "able" to confront this new challenge.
