Evacuated more than 1,000 people after wildfire east of Spain


More than 1,000 people were evicted from their homes in last night because of a wildfire in the province of Alicante, in eastern Spain.

The fire has already burned over 300 hectares, mainly in the tourist towns of Javea and Benitachell. The flames affected some houses and a natural park, La Granadella.

The hypothesis is that ponders the fire was intentional as it originated almost simultaneously in four different points. The Civil Guard seeks to identify and arrest the person that caused it, said today the government delegate in the region of Valencia, Juan Carlos Moragues.

High temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius, and wind changes hamper the work of extinction in the area.
