Launched agreement to protect Internet privacy

The European Commission and the United States announced Tuesday the official launch of the new legal framework governing the transfer of personal data for commercial purposes aimed at protecting the rights of European citizens from excesses of mass espionage.

European Commissioner for Justice, věra jourová and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, presented the final version of the agreement, called 'Privacy Shield' (Coat of confidentiality).

This agreement should replace the "Safe Harbour" (Safe Harbor) in force since 2000 but European justice overruled in October by the massive espionage National Security Agency US (NSA).

"Safe Harbour" and "Privacy Shield" is a legal framework governing the transfer of personal data between the EU and the US, used for commercial purposes by Internet companies mainly.

The growth of social networks and virtual storage services in the cloud has led the Titans to create huge Internet data centers in the United States and elsewhere to store all kinds of information related to Internet users.
