Airbus foresees global demand for aircraft in the next 20 years
The company Airbus estimates that passenger traffic will increase by 4.5% over the next 20 years, leading to a demand for about 33,000 new planes by airlines to expand their fleets, according to the Airbus Global report Market Forecast released today.
The aerospace construction company participating in the Farnborough Air Show, about 50 kilometers south of London, estimates that the value of the aircraft to be built in the next two decades will be around 5,200 billion dollars (4.730 billion euros).
In 2035, the global fleet of aircraft passengers will increase from the current 19,500 to about 40,000 devices, according to the report.
"Urbanization and increasing wealth in emerging economies, particularly in Asia, is spurring the growth of air traffic," Airbus said in a statement, which estimates that developing countries will grow by 5.6% each year.
In 10 years, air traffic in China will become the largest in the world, while economies such as the European and US traffic 3.7% annual increase.
