"It is a very attractive product that absolutely (airlines) can make money, it is a very successful airplane and maybe Chile is lucky enough to have the first," the senior vice president of sales of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Efe said, Eugenio Andráchnikov.

The Russian company, which occupies a privileged place among the pavilions of the International Air Show (FIDAE-2016), which ends this Sunday, first arrives to Santiago with this aircraft in its most basic version needs a runway only 1,700 meters.

Andráchnikov notes that his company has already sold 30 aircraft to the Mexican company Interjet and that 20 of them have been operating in that country more than two and a half years.

"They're always saying it's a very successful aircraft, and we are here (in FIDAE) for one reason: we believe much we can repeat the success of Interjet throughout the region," said the executive.

When reminded that competition can be strong in this region, where Boeing and Airbus have cornered the market Andráchnikov answer is emphatic: "neither Airbus nor Boeing aircraft being manufactured 100 seats. We do ".

He explains that the latest technology used in the development and production of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) has meaning and unmatched performance levels for narrow-body aircraft of the current generation efficiency.

"There is not currently the company with whom we have not spoken, including Latam, and others also anticipates. We're negotiating and someone will have more luck than others in buying our first aircraft, "he added.

It ensures that the SSJ100 can reduce costs up to 1.5 times on routes with moderate traffic, as in Chile and as demonstrated in airplanes bought the Mexican company Interjet.

Remember that modern aircraft is a product of the collaboration of world leaders in aviation technical construction, including Thales, Honeywell, Parker, Safran, Goodrich and Powerjet, among others.

Its first flight took place on May 19, 2008, receiving the type certificate from the Interstate Aviation Committee in January 2011. On 21 April 2011 it entered commercial service with the Armenian airline Armavia.

The SSJ-100 is the only aircraft of 100 seats with the full implementation of FBW concept, certified by EASA as "protected aircraft" and has an advanced standard navigation systems and collision warning.

Andráchnikov stresses that the aircraft has been designed for exceptional performance in the harshest environments in the world, from arctic cold to heat high altitude.

There are currently more than 70 Sukhoi SSJ100 aircraft in operation with more than 150,000 flight hours, hours that the company expects to quintuple conquering the skies of Latin America.
