US singer Katy Perry won a lawsuit Wednesday two nuns to acquire a convent in Los Angeles.
Callahan sisters Rita and Catherine Rose Holzman, members of the California Institute of the Missionary Congregation Heart of Mary, decided to sell businesswoman Dana Hollister.
But the judge of the Supreme Court of Los Angeles Stephanie M. Bowick overruled the purchase agreement to give the reason for the archdiocese and the singer, who said the nuns have no authority to sell it.
The archdiocese said Perry, 31, offered 14.5 million in a single transaction, while Hollister paid only $ 100,000 of the 15.5 million promised 10 million for the monastery, a property outside the complex valued at 5.5 million.
The decision opens the way for the artist, known for songs like "Roar" and "I Kissed a Girl" completes the acquisition of the monastery located in the affluent suburb of Los Feliz, which populates a part of the famous hills of the city .
The nuns promise however continue fighting: "As far as I know, nothing is over," said his attorney, John Scholnick, quoted by the Los Angeles Times.
