Captured in Mexico Sinaloa cartel operator to extradite him to the US


Mexican authorities announced Monday the arrest for extradition to the United States of one of the most wanted criminals by the government of that country and who allegedly operated for the Sinaloa Cartel, in another blow to the organization of recaptured drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo "Guzman.

Martin Avendano Ojeda Gaudencio, whom the National Security Committee (CNS) conference identified only as prey Martin N., was arrested on September 2 n the city of Zapopan, Jalisco (west).

"In October 2011, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States Department of the Treasury, identified the Martin, Manuel and Sergio brothers as responsible for control of a network of drug distribution and money laundering in the state of Sinaloa, "said Renato Sales Heredia, head of the CNS.

In 2011, the Treasury Department announced that the brothers Avendano Ojeda, led by Martin washed money for the Sinaloa cartel, specifically for the faction led by "El Mayo" Zambada, then froze its assets in the United States and banned any transaction with their companies.

Since June 26 this year authorities arrested Hector Manuel Avendano, who was claimed by the Superior Court of District of Columbia in the United States.

A month after this capture the Mexican newspaper El Universal reported that he had evidence that Sergio Avendano had handled an injunction to avoid being arrested and extradited.

For his Joaquin "El Chapo" part Loera Guzman was recaptured in January after escaping, for the second time in 2015 through a long tunnel of a maximum security prison and is now imprisoned in Ciudad Juarez (north) subjected to a process of extradition to the United States.
