BlackBerry smartphone say goodbye "Classic" and its flagship keyboard

BlackBerry will stop producing its smartphone Classic, the last of its models with physical keyboard, as part of a revamp of its range, announced Tuesday the Canadian telecommunications equipment maker, AFP reported.

BlackBerry had launched the Classic in 2014 at the request of customers willing to upgrade the flagship company keyboard that became known Canadian group, in the early 2000s.

The decision to stop manufacturing it is simply explained by the fact that the Classic outlived their useful life, said Ralph Pini, director of BlackBerry, on the website of the group.

"We renew our range of smartphones with bodies at the forefront of technology," he added.

BlackBerry suffered another loss in its first quarter, after two years in the red, with sales of its smartphones in low permanent.

In the first fiscal quarter (ended May 31), BlackBerry posted a loss of $ 670 million, while sales fell to 424 million.
