The decision has not been taken lightly. It comes after months researching these artifacts and that numerous accidents have occurred due to misuse or spontaneous outbursts of their batteries on some models. According to CSPC, between December 1, 2015 and February 17, 2016, there have been only 52 cases hoverboards whose batteries exploded or burned. Not to mention users who have rough handling them.
Although the committee has been unable to get set fire during his test, yes it has detected abnormally high levels of warming have finished melting the plastic. The CSPC has not made public what brands or models have been tested.
The commission has asked shops and companies involved in marketing devices withdraw voluntarily. The request includes both hoverboards called two-wheelers, as unicycles that balance automatically. The report also ordered the seizure of the hoverboard arriving from third countries to be sold on US soil, and also prohibits their use.
Recently, the agency established an independent security UL certification basic protocol for these devices, but not mandatory. Now it is mandatory for any new or marketed conform to these standards device. However, it will be difficult prevent further selling in every small business or street stall.
