So the first gravitational wave sounds heard in history

LIGO project scientists announced to have detected gravitational waves produced as a result of the collision of two black holes. Since the Albert Einstein predicted in 1915, scientists have sought ways to listen and thus verify its existence. And only a century later, on September 14, 2015, it was possible to hear the first gravitational waves in history.

"[The project] LIGO acts more like an ear and an eye," said researcher Scott Hughes, a specialist in gravitational waves Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA Hughes refers to listening to changes in the amplitude and frequency of the gravitational waves, scientists can literally hear "the waves are story telling". "I like to think of this in a linguistic way," says Hughes. "The language of the event is printed on the wave."
