Scientists presented in the US. the "Cybathlon", the first Olympic Games for athletes with
disabilities to compete using bionic technology assistance, such as
robotic prosthesis or brain-computer capable of reading the minds of
paraplegics.
This is the first international professional competition of this kind, scheduled for October 8 this year in Zurich (Switzerland) and in which hundreds of athletes from 21 countries around the world are planning to join forces with sophisticated robots to compete in six disciplines different.
Among the six disciplines included a career in wheelchair competition with knee prosthesis, a trial prosthetic arm and a bike race for those who have a spinal injury, they can not communicate to the brain with his legs but use electrodes to activate your muscles.
Further evidence of these cybathlon is intended for people with paraplegia who can not move from the neck and, with the help of a brain-computer, sent to a game appropriate for your character jump over obstacles signs or run faster.
