Hundreds of thousands of voters braved the cold and snow Tuesday in New Hampshire to vote in the US presidential primaries, the Democratic favorite Hillary Clinton under pressure from Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump in front of the polls in the Republican camp.
The smallest state in the northeast with about 880,000 voters, New Hampshire, has a symbolic value in primary and candidates to the White House have increased efforts to convince voters, especially the nearly 400,000 registered as independents.
Billionaire Donald Trump leads polls among Republicans with an average 17-point lead and Sanders, a senator from Vermont (neighboring New Hampshire state) exceeds by about 12 points to Hillary Clinton on the Democratic side.
