The Duke of Cambridge, William and Catherine, on his first official visit to Bhutan this spring, said today Kensington Palace.

During their stay, William and Kate will be received by the kings of Bhutan, who married in 2011, said the BBC.

This kingdom allowed the entry of tourists for the first time in the 70s and is known by its index of Gross National Happiness, an alternative indicator to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which measures personal happiness, instead of economic growth, to calculate the progress of its people.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk occupies the throne since 2006 and in March 2008 established a constitutional monarchy after 34 years of absolute rule.

Pre-grandson and his wife Elizabeth II royal visits include the Duke of York in 2010 and the Prince of Wales in 1998, both sons of the British sovereign.

Kensington Palace also announced that in spring Prince Harry will make an official trip to Nepal. EFE
