Germany recorded over 1000 attacks on homes for refugees in 2015

The head of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), Holger Münch, said Thursday that the dramatic increase in crimes against the shelters for refugees is of great concern after learning that in Germany there were a thousand attacks against those places.

According to the BKA, the number of attacks increased fivefold in 2015, since in 2014 it was 199 attacks.

"Such acts must be prosecuted and punished accordingly," Munch, who also referred to messages circulating on social networks, calling it "breeding ground for xenophobia and hatred of the other," he said.
