Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey dies at age 67.
Glen Frey, founding member and guitarist of the rock band Eagles, has died. The cause of death is due to a combination of complications of rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.
Frey and spent several months fighting with these intestinal problems and went to surgery in November. Unfortunately his condition worsened in recent days, dying in New York City.
Glenn co-wrote and sang most of the songs of Eagles, including Take it Easy, Tequila Sunrise, Lyin Eyes and Heartache Tonight, to name a few. He also co-wrote Hotel California and Desperado with Don Henley, taking six Grammys with his band.
After the breakup of the Eagles in 1980, Glenn launched a successful solo career, recording numerous hits, the best known, The Heat is On and You Belong to the City.
Glenn also incurred in acting, having a recurring role on the show Miami Vice.
He reunited with the Eagles in 1994 for Hell Freezes Over tour, recording his fifth and final solo album After Hours, in 2012.
Another lost more than add to the list that have unfortunately been in recent weeks. Goodbye Glenn and someday we will be at the California Hotel.
