Israeli police and the mayor of Tel Aviv said today the state of high alert in the city by the presence of a terrorist in the streets, local media reported.
Hundreds of agents have established controls all access and are deployed by major crosses after receiving intelligence imminent alert, the paper Yediot Aharonot online.
The mayor of Tel Aviv announced that "reinforcing agents following assessments police" and that particular attention to schools and daycare is provided.
The officers, many with guns drawn, revised every vehicle entering the city and pedestrians, requiring identification and in some cases opening their bags.
The alert, which also affects other towns around Tel Aviv, comes a week after exactly three Israelis were shot dead in the same city, two of them at a pub and a third driver, in the north.
The attacker, identified alleged jihadist movements, fled and the security services have lost track.
In connection with that attack Israeli Police today imposed severe security cordon around the village of Arara, in Galilee, where the attacker, Nashat Melhem, whose face was filmed by a security camera of a small supermarket lived seconds before opening fire. EFE
