At least 39 people were killed Saturday in an alleged Russian aircraft bombing against a court and a prison in the city of Maarat al Nuaman in northern Syria and under the control of the Nusra Front, an affiliate of Al Qaeda in the country, and its allies, according to activists.
The head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abderrahman, said to Efe by telephone that most of the dead were combatants of armed groups and prisoners in the detention center.
The planes fired four rockets into the area, located south of the Nuaman Maarath market in the northern province of Idleb.
