At least 3 missing and 95 houses destroyed by fire in Australia

At least three people are missing and 95 houses were destroyed after a wildfire affect Yarloop village, southwest of Australia, local media reported Friday.

The fire also destroyed 50,000 hectares of land with flames up to 50 meters high and threatens to spread to other localities to 122 kilometers from the city of Perth.

The high summer temperatures in recent years have contributed to an increase in fires in Australia, a situation that scientists link partly to global warming caused by climate change.

On February 7, 2009, 173 people died and half a million hectares of land were burnt in the fire "Black Saturday" in Victoria, one of the greatest tragedies in the history of Australia.
