Senator Lindsey Graham announced today that leaves the bulky race for the Republican presidential nomination for the White House, but said it will maintain its commitment to the security of the United States, one of the main themes of his campaign.
"Today I suspend my campaign for president. I want to thank all those who have traveled with me ", said today in a farewell video posted on its website the senator, whose support in the polls of voting intentions was close to 0%, according to Real Clear Politics website, which manufactures a daily average of the major polls.
"I suspend my campaign, but I never get my commitment to safety and strength for the American people," added the senator, representative of the state of South Carolina.
With his departure, Graham adds to the withdrawal of other Republicans like former governor of Texas Rick Perry, the first US presidential candidate to abandon the race for the White House, and who followed the governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
The list of candidates for the Republican presidential nomination for the 2016 elections is 13 candidates, most notably the real estate magnate Donald Trump, bringing together federal support level of 34.4%, followed by Senator Ted Cruz (17, 1%), according to Real Clear Politics today. EFE
