At first, the presenter of the show, Steve Harvey, announced that the winner was the Colombian representative, who became crowned and celebrated his victory with fans home.
Shortly after Harvey came out on stage to announce that he was wrong to read the card and the winner it was actually the representative of the Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.
"It's my mistake," Harvey said, adding live and on stage he assumed "full responsibility" for what happened and showed the camera the contents of the card said.
After a moment of confusion, Wurtzbach finally took the crown of Miss Universe and thus happened to the Colombian Paulina Vega, who won the competition in 2014.
