Legislators call for removing the Trump name to park in New York

Two Democratic lawmakers from New York said at a state park named after Donald Trump is should change the name to what they say are discriminatory proposals made by Republican presidential candidate. The Associated Press

State Senator Daniel Squadron and legislator Charles Lavine said they will promote legislation to rename the Donald J. Trump State Park, which is located in the southeastern region of the state and has 176 hectares (436 acres) of undeveloped land. They also want the signs are removed in place that are in Westchester and Putnam.



They raised the initiative after Trump proposed deny them entry to the United States to Muslim immigrants.

Lavine Squadron and believe the tycoon does not deserve a state park that bears his name.

Trump donated the land to the state in 2006 after plans to build a golf course will come down. The park closed to the public in 2010.

Trump spokeswoman said he is proud New Yorker and the state can not take the name of the park.
