A man of 29 years died in the German city of Schöppingen (Midwest) as a result of injuries sustained after popping a dispenser of condoms, allegedly to steal his collection box, police reported today.

The explosion occurred last Friday, Christmas Day, after three men placed explosives next to the vending machine for dispensing such items to blow it away, according to a police statement.
Two of them were protected inside a car before the blast, while the third was not enough to close the door behind her vehicle and was hit by a metal fragment of the machine head.
His two accomplices he was transferred immediately to a hospital, where they explained that his partner was injured after falling down a staircase.
Shortly after the man died of his injuries, while police said they found the broken condom dispenser, but the collection box intact.
