The project, which says look for a "transparency" in the decisions of the Fed, was approved by 241 votes in favor, 185 against and now goes to the Senate can approve, modify or not pursue the matter.

The text demands the Fed to publicly explain its monetary policy and how interest rates fixed, the Speaker of the House, Republican Paul Ryan said.

The project calls on the Fed to determine a formula for monetary policy and to render explanations to Congress if it departs from it.

The Fed President Janet Yellen strongly opposes the initiative. Considers that there are no formulas for monetary policy and further believes that threatens the independence of the body.
