President Barack Obama and his French counterpart Francois Hollande on Tuesday offered a press conference to present the measures agreed at a meeting to fight the self-styled Islamic State.
The leaders met at the White House to coordinate strategy against jihadist terrorism after the attacks of last November 13 in Paris.
Obama said that ISIS "is a threat to us all" and therefore "should not be tolerated and must be destroyed," he said the United States loves France for the spirit, culture and way of life.
The appointment is part of the diplomatic marathon that started Hollande to meet with key world leaders in Paris after the attacks, which killed at least 130 people.
