Obama calls for calm: The government does its best to prevent attacks

The US government does "everything possible" to prevent attacks or attacks on its territory, said Wednesday President Barack Obama, who nevertheless said that for the moment there is no specific threat in this regard.

In a brief message from the White House, Obama said Americans which prepared the celebrations for the Day of Action Gracias- that the security agencies are alert and considered "useful people (...) be vigilant."



"At a time when we prepare for the holiday, want Americans to know that we are taking every possible step to keep our country safe," Obama said, flanked by his top national security advisers.

His government, Obama said, "continues to do everything possible to prevent attacks both at home and abroad, and to prevent foreign fighters entering the United States or other countries."

The US president said that "right now, we are not aware of credible intelligence indicating a specific attack" in the country, and reinforced that this is "the last information received available to me moments ago."
