Arrested five Syrian with false passports in Honduras

Five Syrian nationals were arrested after they tried to enter Honduras with fake passports, according to the Honduran authorities reported.

The authorities have not made any connection between the arrests and a terrorist attack.

The five Syrians were arrested at Toncontin International Airport in Tegucigalpa (capital of Honduras) with Greek passports stolen, AnĂ­bal Baca said police spokesman Honduras, adding that Interpol was involved in the arrests.



It is unknown how these men got the passports.

"The government of Honduras is on alert for what is happening internationally. Coordinate are the Attorney General to establish the legal status of these people, "said the spokesman.

The detainees are in the immigration office where investigations will be made.

The route followed the five men left Syria-Lebanon-Brazil-Argentina-Costa Rica-Honduras.
